Privacy Policy

Revision date: March 7, 2018

This Privacy Policy sets out how the Licensor (the “Licensor,” “we,” “us”) treats information relating to your use of the search application distributed as lifesearchplace (the “Application”) and the platform provided through it (the “Platform”). It is incorporated into our Software License Agreement and constitutes a binding agreement between you and the Licensor whenever you use the Platform. If you do not agree with it, please do not download, install, or use the Application.

You represent that you are at least thirteen (13) years of age. The Licensor does not knowingly collect information from children under 13; where such information is identified, it will be discarded. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please write to help@lifesearchplace.com. If you are under 18, please review this policy with a parent or legal guardian.

Categories of Information

The Licensor collects aggregated, non-identifying information (“Aggregate Information”) concerning your device and your use of the Platform. This may include technical data transmitted by your device, your browser type and default search preference, your operating system, language, the date and time of access, the referring website, your approximate geographic location, your internet service provider, and your Internet Protocol (IP) address. Certain of these items, such as an IP address, may be regarded as personal information in some jurisdictions. Aggregate Information is used solely to provide, improve, customise, and develop the Platform and to conduct research and statistical analysis.

Where you contact us for support and voluntarily supply details such as your name and email address, the Licensor collects that identifiable information (“Identifiable Information”) solely to respond to and assist you. Wherever technically possible, the Licensor will request your consent before collecting Identifiable Information and will provide an opt-out.

Disclosure of Information

The Licensor does not sell or disclose your Identifiable Information to third parties, except where it holds a good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a governmental request; to enforce its agreements and defend legal claims; to investigate or prevent fraud, security incidents, or unlawful activity; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Licensor, its users, or the public.

Aggregate Information may be used or disclosed for the purposes above and shared with service-provider partners — including search-feed providers, customer-support vendors, and analytics providers — to help analyse and improve the Platform. The Licensor may also disclose information to affiliated entities, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, provided the recipient assumes the obligations of this policy. If Identifiable Information is combined with Aggregate Information, the combined data is treated as Identifiable Information for so long as it remains combined.

If you reside in the European Economic Area, the Licensor will take appropriate measures to ensure your Identifiable Information receives an adequate level of protection when transferred outside the EEA. Where your jurisdiction requires consent for such transfer, your acceptance of this policy constitutes that consent.

Use of Cookies

The Licensor and its service providers (for example, Google Analytics) may use cookies — small text files stored on your device — to operate the Platform efficiently and remember your preferences. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, although certain features may then cease to function correctly. Further information is available at allaboutcookies.org; details of Google’s handling of analytics data at google.com/policies/privacy/partners; and the Google Analytics opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Third-Party Services

This policy does not extend to third-party sites or services accessible through the Platform. Their practices differ from ours and are outside our control, and we therefore recommend that you review their privacy policies before use.

Your Rights

You may uninstall the Application and reset your device settings at any time. Subject to the laws of your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, amend, or delete your Identifiable Information; to exercise them, contact help@lifesearchplace.com. The Licensor may require information to verify your identity before responding. You may also withdraw consent and opt out of collection through the Settings menu, though certain features may then become unavailable. You may opt out of certain third-party advertising cookies through the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out pages.

Retention and Security

The Licensor retains collected information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer period is required by law or to maintain accurate records of dealings with you. The Licensor applies robust security measures to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure, but no method is entirely secure and the Licensor cannot be responsible for access beyond its reasonable control. If you believe your privacy has not been handled in accordance with this policy, contact help@lifesearchplace.com.

Do Not Track

The Platform does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Further information is available at allaboutdnt.com.

Amendments

The Licensor may revise this policy at any time; revisions take effect on publication, and the revision date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Platform following a revision constitutes acceptance. Where a revision materially affects your use of the Platform or the Licensor’s collection of data, the Licensor will use reasonable efforts to notify you through the Platform.
